Pastor John Murfin

November 2008

I often think that when we enter into the Month of November, then the summer is well and truly behind us and spring can often seem a long way ahead. Our season seems to indicate barrenness and bareness, darkness and inclement weather. But then our hearts and minds anticipate the joy of spring time when the weather brightens, the flowers start to bud and trees have blossom on them.  But until that time we have several months ahead. We have to set our minds to going through the winter months.

In the same way as Christians sometimes we can find days or weeks appear to be a difficult time, as things seems a little jaded, circumstances overwhelm us and even motivation may wane.  Are we any less of a Christian NO.?  Has God left us? NO.

It is at these times that we must continue to look to the Lord to sustain us and keep us.  There is a time of fruitfulness and new growth ahead, but until then keep drinking and feeding on the Lord, maintain your relationship with Him, during these times of difficulty and you will come through your winter season into the spring season. The presence of the Lord will forever sustain and strengthen you.

Within the newsletter there is once again a lot of information about forthcoming activities and events. There is also reference to Christmas!!!  Scary I know but it will soon be upon us!  On a practical note, with all that is happening from a financial aspect -

Don’t go daft over Christmas – keep free from debt and overindulgence. Remember Christmas is about the Lord Jesus birth; not hammering a credit card!

As a leadership we continue to uphold you all in prayer, trusting that, although we may feel the affects of the economic difficulties, we can know and pray that in every home we will sense the provision and strength of our almighty God. Our God is a God of provision.

May God bless you mightily,

Pastor John

Our Aims as a church taken from April 'From the Pastor'

  • Ensure attendees are aware of Christian Values, Beliefs and scriptural expectations of their lifestyles in a changing moral world.

  • To disciple and challenge a believer to quantify their own personal faith

  • Expose and challenge believers to increase desire to have a burden to pray, not just as an individual, but in a corporate setting.

  • Expect to develop a culture of outreach, and to touch the worlds in which we operate with the gospel.

  • To pursue an enhanced outreach and evangelistic mentality.

  • Train, equip and resource each individual and the fellowship to the tasks which God has called us.

  • Develop and resource the Youth and Children in our fellowship and to teach, train and release them into a deeper, vibrant experience of God.
