Pastor John Murfin

JULY 2010

Dear All,

These words will in essence be my last written words to this church, which I find very difficult to do in a few paragraphs – trying to convey so many feelings and thoughts, and the wonderful joys of ministry that we have experienced here over the last 10 years. We have experienced tremendous love and warmth from all and indeed this church is a joy to Pastor.

God has been good and it has been wonderful to minster here – we have journeyed together as a congregation and as individuals along the paths that God has taken us. We have laughed, cried, rejoiced and mourned but in everything God has been good and in control. There are many memories that we as a family will take with us. It would be difficult and wrong to single anyone out – but for each one of you may I say thanks for your love and support over the years. If you have held leadership positions, are involved in the many groups or simply attend the church on a Sunday thank you for what you mean to us – you have a special place in our hearts. I may not have always got things right – but I have always sort to love you and to do what is right in the eyes of the Lord!

I think the best thing I can do is sum up by scripture what is in my heart.

“I thank my God every time I remember you in all my prayers for all of you. I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Therefore run with perseverance the race marked out for us and fix our eyes upon Jesus” ” Philippians Ch 1:14/Heb Ch 12:1-2

Keep persevering through life’s trials, and Keep focused on the Lord.

I pray that as a new pastor is appointed you will be as loyal and supportive to him as you have been of us and that individually and corporately this church will grow and go from strength to strength.

Finally, although we farewell here on the Sunday 25th July, we will still be at camp and then on two weeks holiday and will officially finish on 31st August, prior to induction in Motherwell on 3rd September. Please pray for us as we move house, and begin to minister in Motherwell that all will go smoothly and that the children will settle quickly in their new schools and that Tracey will find a job quickly!!!!!

From all of us: Thanks and we love you loads!

John, Tracey, Bethany and Laura
